Seattle Seahawks Secure Postseason Berth with Thrilling Overtime Victory over Rams.

Game-winning play in the extra period

Tight end Saubert made the decisive two-point play for Seattle.

The Seattle Seahawks engineered a stunning comeback to overcome the Los Angeles Rams in overtime, securing their place in the postseason.

Rallying from a sixteen-point deficit in the final period, the Seattle squad triumphed by a single point at home, registering their fifth consecutive victory.

While the Rams had already secured a post-season berth earlier on Sunday, the Seahawks booked their return to the play-offs after a two-year absence.

With this result, the Seahawks have taken over their Conference race with a 12-3 mark, supplanting the Rams, who fell to the fifth playoff position with an 11-4 record.

Action Highlights

Signal-caller Sam Darnold had two interceptions but recovered to make two touchdown passes, including the tying TD to star receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba in overtime.

The Rams held a 13-7 advantage at the break before Walker burst through for a long touchdown run for the home side.

Rams defensive back Josh Wallace then took back Darnold's initial pick for 56 yards, setting up a one-yard score by Blake Corum on the ensuing snap.

In the fourth quarter, a scoring pass from Stafford to Nacua extended the advantage to sixteen points, but Rashid Shaheed ignited the hope with a spectacular return for a score.

Darnold then found AJ Barner in the endzone, and a converted conversion sent the game into overtime.

Although Nacua raced in for his second TD in overtime, Jaxon Smith-Njigba responded in kind to setup the game-winning conversion.

Key Stats

  • The 23-year-old tops the NFL with 1,541 receiving yards for the season.
